Professor Zhongming Wen has a strong background on ecology and his research interests are mainly on the ecological restoration and its environmental impact, spanning from ecological processes to landscape patterns, from community assembly to ecosystem functions in the Loess Plateau. Now he focuses on the development of trait-base ecological restoration theory and techniqes in arid and semiarid areas in the China. Meanwhile, he is also doing some work on the impact of regevetation groprams such as “Grain for Green” project on the runoff and sediment production on the Loess Plateau.
